Despite the criticisms raised by critics the popularity of adult dolls is growing in popularity. Many people utilize dolls that are sexually explicit as a means to deal with negative emotions like depression and loneliness. Men also use the dolls to express their feelings. Despite these positive trends, it is essential to understand the nature of this fetish and its potential negative implications. This study employs a mixed-method approach to explore the therapeutic and aesthetic aspects of playing with dolls within the ball-jointed doll (BJD) collectors. The research plan includes an exploration of thematic analysis and interviews with collectors. Thematic analysis allows for an in-depth examination of the connections between the collector and the doll, and how these relationships are shaped through bonding and customization processes.
